Scientific Workshops & Seminars, and support to Conferences

(LAST DEADLINE EXPIRED)

Scientific Workshops and Seminars were organised irregularly, mainly when there was a “hot” topic of significant relevance in the society. The contact persons at the member organisations submit proposals for workshops, and the NMA Steering Committee decides which workshops to support and to what extent.

Such workshops should also include representatives from e.g. the government, natural protection boards and environmental management organisations, who will cover their own travel expenses.

To optimise the use of expertise and travel funds, these workshops could be organised in connection with the Advanced Courses.

The NMA will also be willing to organise customised courses, seminars or advanced studies for government officials, decision makers, or people from the media. However, this activity will not be prioritised, and the costs of organising these seminars should be covered by the commanding agencies.

The NMA may also grant partial support to Nordic conferences within the NMA area of focus. Funding should be mainly allocated to support PhD students and young researchers form Nordic and Baltic countries to attend the conference and to cover travel and subsistence expenses of invited speakers.
